The Ministry of has tourism introduces TikTok Challenge in the festive of Maldives Tourism Golden Jubilee.

The TikTok Challenge targets both Maldivians and outsiders. The challenge would be held from 12th March 2022 till 10th May 2022.

Participants can transfer their recording starting from 12 March 2022 – 12:00 am till 10th May 2022 – 10 May. Every participant can transfer has a limited three recordings from their records.

The Ministry highlighted that the TikTok video should be 60 seconds with an individual lip-syncing to the Maldives Tourism Golden Jubilee Theme Song “Nala Raajje”. The video should be uploaded with the TikTok handle of the Ministry of Tourism, “@mot.mv” and should include hashtags, #Maldives #NalaNalaRaajje #maldivestourism50 #visitmaldives within the video.

This challenge is available to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or nationality, according to the Tourism Ministry.

On the 11th of May, the entries will be judged.

For Maldivians, there are two categories: Category A, which is for TikTok user accounts with more than 10,000 followers, and Category B, which is for TikTok user accounts with fewer than 10,000 followers. Three winners will be chosen from each category. The first-place winner will earn MVR25,000, second-place winners will receive MVR15,000, and third-place winners will receive MVR10,000.

Foreigners are divided into two categories: Category A, which includes TikTok user accounts with more than one million followers, and Category B, which includes TikTok user accounts with fewer than one million followers. Two winners will be chosen from each category. The first-place winner will receive an eight-day vacation package for two people. Foreigners who place second will receive a five-day vacation package for two.

The winners will be announced on the Ministry of Tourism’s official social media platforms on May 17, 2022. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges, and the videos with the most views, likes, and shares in each category will be awarded points on a pro-rata basis. The number of views of the videos will be worth 35 per cent of the points, while likes will be worth 25% and shares will be worth 40%.

While the Ministry of Tourism has released an official song titled ‘Nala Nala Raajje’ in honour of Tourism Golden Jubilee Year, the Ministry is also hosting a number of activities related to the year.
